Notorious 86-year-old jewel thief Doris Payne is ’bout that life! She was arrested again at an Atlanta Walmart on Monday (July 17) for allegedly shoplifting $86.22 worth of merchandise — while wearing an ankle bracelet from a prior arrest in DeKalb County.
The police report said an employee saw the senior citizen pay for some items in her shopping cart and stash the rest in her purse and a Walmart shopping bag.
But Doris told NBC News that she simply forgot to pay for the items. She said the medicine she had taken before going to the store causes her to forget things.
Doris was taken to the City of Chamblee Jail, where she was booked for shoplifting and released.
According to NBC News, she was re-arrested the next day for violating her probation from a previous bust in March, when she got caught stealing a $2000 necklace from a mall jewelry store.
