Tia Mowry is divorced and dating! This week, the actress opened up to her 12 million Instagram followers about looking for love in her 40s.
The 45-year-old has been vocal about her and Cory Hardrict‘s split since the news broke last October. Now, nearly one year later, she’s giving fans an insider look at single life.

Tia Mowry Says She’s Relying On God To Navigate Dating
Tia delivered her message by filming a video using viral audio about the daunting nature of dating.
“Fun Fact: I’ve never been on the dating scene my entire life. So when I tell you I’m nervous and terrified of doing this whole dating thing, I mean it,” Tia wrote in the caption, adding a crying emoticon. “Though I’m in my 40s, I feel so inexperienced!”
Despite feeling fearful, the mother of two said she’s taking the leap and trusting in God.
“And while it would be easy to just throw in the towel and avoid the potential for awkwardness and hurt, I know God’s got me! So if you’re feeling apprehensive about new experiences, just know you got this, and we’re in this together!”
It’s unclear WHO the Hollywood vet stepped out with, but her date night outfit inspired compliments in her comment section.
She wore a sleeveless black top accessorized with bling, a black skirt with colorful flowers, and strappy black heels. Mowry styled her hair in a high, curly ponytail and completed the look with hoop earrings, layered necklaces, bracelets, and a watch.
Tia Explains What Prompted Her Divorce From Cory Hardrict
As mentioned, Tia Mowry filed for divorce in October after nearly 15 years of marriage to Hardrict. The court docs cited “irreconcilable differences” for their split. They had met in 1999 on a movie set but didn’t tie the knot until April 2008.
After the divorce news spread, Mowry took to Instagram, explaining that her decision was not easy or “without sadness.” However, she assured fans they would “maintain a friendship as [they] co-parent” their kids, Cree and Cairo. Within days, Cory denied rumors that he’d been unfaithful in the marriage.

By December, Mowry shared photos of the family of four spending the holidays together. She captioned the still-available post, “Family will ALWAYS be family. Merry Christmas from our family to yours.”
In April, US Weekly reported that the couple’s marriage was dissolved on April 24, per court documents. This divorce finalization came amid what was supposed to be their 15th wedding anniversary.
The estranged pair opted to retain joint custody of the children. Now that Tia Mowry is dating, she must adhere to a waiting period for introducing new partners to their kids.
PEOPLE reports that Mowry and Hardrict agreed to be exclusively dating someone for at least six months before introductions. Per the agreement, their new romantic partners will also not be allowed to spend the night while Cree or Cairo is in their care.

And while dating may terrify Tia, the entertainer told Hello Beautiful in June she divorced Hardrict, in part, so her children could see her “walk in truth.”
“A part of my decision was also for them. For them seeing their mother walk in truth. I feel like it’s a great lesson for them because it was not an easy decision. It was one of the hardest decisions that I had ever had to make in my entire life. But if they see that mommy can do it…[They can say] my mommy is living and chasing her truth. I want my children to do that. That’s the best gift I can give them…”
