Tia Mowry is reflecting on her ex-husband Cory Hardrict‘s marriage proposal while revealing how she decided to repurpose her wedding ring following their divorce.
According to US Magazine, a new episode of Mowry’s docuseries, ‘Tia Mowry: My Next Act,’ premiered on Friday, October 11. During the episode, Mowry became emotional putting on her wedding ring.
“I havent worn my wedding band for two years now, and it just doesnt feel right to sell it,” Mowry said before explaining her plans for the piece of jewelry.
The mother of two revealed that she wanted to change her wedding band into something for her children.
“Pass it down because they have been my biggest gift,” she added before reportedly getting emotional. “I do want to do it because I havent worn it. It has just been sitting there. It was very pretty. If it is made into something else, then it is put to use. This is a symbol of a marriage, and it is no longer. I would rather the kids have something.”
In a later clip, Mowry is seen sitting down at a jewelry store, getting the ring appraised. While there, the actor shared that she decided to turn her wedding band into “some nice jewelry pieces” for her kids. Per US Magazine, Mowry and Hardrict’s son, Cree, received a chain, while their daughter, Cairo, received a bracelet.

In a recently published video interview with Entertainment Tonight, Mowry spoke about her current relationship and co-parenting dynamic with Hardrict.
“We are still a family, and that’s what I want to say,” Mowry initially shared before elaborating. “We’re going to Disneyland together for Halloween. I’m not saying that it’s easy… co-parenting it has its rough patches. But I think that we are doing a great job.”
Ultimately, Mowry explained that her children are successfully navigating through their parent’s split.
