TikTok Committing $1 Million Toward Fighting Racial Injustice & Inequality

TikTok Committing $1 Million Toward Fighting  Racial Injustice & Inequality & $3 Million To Non Profits That Help The Black Community

Earlier this week we reported on claims of TikTok allegedly blocking out the “#BlackLivesMatter” and “#GeorgeFloyd” hashtags, as well as other hashtags related to the murder of George.

TikTok then released a statement following these allegations, stating they stand with the Black community.

TikTok has since fixed what they claimed to be a bug, and are taking steps to do more as they understand that “fixing the problem was not enough.”

A TikTok rep tells us that the company “Will be donating $3 million from our Community Relief Fund to non-profits that help the Black community, which has been disproportionately affected by the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.”

In addition, they acknowledge that this is only a starting point, but will also be committing another “$1 million towards fighting the racial injustice and inequality that we are witnessing in this country.”

Are y’all here for these steps TikTok is taking? Catch up on the original story below:
