Timbaland Gets Candid About Losing 130 lbs After Overcoming A Painkiller Addiction: “I Had A Dream That Death Was Near”

Timbaland is starting the new year as a new man! He’s the brains behind some of your favorite songs, and has opened up about an issue he has overcome after almost 10 years.

In an interview with Men’s Health Magazine, Timbaland shows off his brand new body, and reveals just how much of a struggle it was to get snatched! He has reportedly lost 130 lbs after overcoming an addiction to painkillers.

Timbaland says his issues with painkillers started back in 2011 after getting a root canal. He started abusing OxyContin and Percocet, which became a nasty habit after going through a messy divorce and an IRS investigation. He says he never knew how may pills he took per day, but was very aware that it was “way over the limit.”

He also recalls feeling pain in his arm due to an injury when he was 17! Timbaland tells the story of accidentally being shot while working at Red Lobster, which gave him an excuse to ask his doctor for more pills.

“The pills put me in a great feeling of not caring, of just being free,” he said. “I’m like traveling, doing shows, popping them, having fun–just being ignorant.”

The pill popping addiction along with terrible eating habits brought Timbaland to a whopping 350 lbs, and led to a nasty battle with prediabetes. After realizing he was losing himself in his addiction, Timbaland decided to quit all on his own.

“Just me and God,” he said. “This was the path chosen for me. God was rebuilding my character. The only things that got me through it were my kids, my girl, and the help of God keeping my mind still.”

As of now, Timbaland says he has plans to continue his greatness in music, and continue evolving as a man who is passionate about his health.

“God has me under construction, which I’m still under,” he says. “I don’t feel like I’m complete. I don’t want to ever feel like I’m complete, because my mind would probably get idle. God needed me to be clear so I could see what I needed, not what I want.”
