R&B pionner Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins of TLC will be headlining the charity concert this Sunday in order to raise money and awareness for the painful blood disorder.
The idea came to her in a dream that included her friend, Raphael Saadiq. She explained to Bossip that she, “told him, ‘When I had the dream, I saw you next to me holding a bass’, so, we’re making my dream come true.”
The singer will not only be joined by Rahael Saadiq, but Faith Evans, actress Kat Graham from “The Vampire Diaries” and T-Boz’ girl group ATLA will be making appearances as well!
T-Boz has endured the disease since childhood and says that the proceeds will benefit the Sickle Cell Foundation. She’s been working with them for years and says.
“I love the work that they do, and I know the money goes to a good cause,” she said. “It helps children and parents.”
