The internet streets have been speculating for a minute now that Toni Braxton and Birdman got married, but it turns out they may have! The longtime friends turned lovers reportedly said “I do” in August 2024. But here’s the gag, chile just two days after they jumped the broom, Toni went ahead and filed for divorce. However, their story didn’t end there.
Okay, so boom TMZ dropped the tea that Toni Braxton and Birdman secretly tied the knot on August 8, 2024. But here’s the kicker they might not even be together anymore. TMZ got their hands on divorce papers, which reportedly state that Toni filed to end their marriage just two weeks later, calling it “irretrievably broken.” She listed their separation date as August 10 just two days after they got married.
But wait, there’s more! Even though it looked like they were headed for a split, Toni pulled the divorce petition in January 2025, and Birdman allegedly signed off on it. So, as of right now, they’re still legally husband and wife. As for whether they’re happily husband and wife, the verdict is still out on that!
Back in December 2023, The Shade Room posted reports of Toni Braxton shutting down the rumors about her marrying Birdman. Toni shared a screenshot of a report of her and Birdman on her IG Story, “Congratulations! Toni Braxton & Birdman Married In A Private Ceremony In Mexico.”
The singer wasted no time calling the claims fake and even gave more clarity on their relationship status. “My dear friend @BIrdman and I are not married… never been married. We are both single,” Toni captioned the post.
Toni Braxton and Birdman’s relationship has been on and off since they started dating in 2016. Page Six reports that in 2018, the Cash Money Records executive proposed to the R&B icon with a huge $1 million diamond ring. But then, in 2019, they called off their engagement but reportedly decided to get back together weeks later.
