Recently Toya Wright stopped by the Breakfast Club to promote her latest book, where she talked about the many things that are her reality.
One of the topics touched on during the interview was her recent falling out with Tamar Braxton, and why she doesn’t believe they were close friends to begin with. We all remember when Tamar decided to unfollow Toya after she appeared on, “The Real.”
In her book Toya talked about not being able to get booked on The Real prior to Tamar being fired.
On the Breakfast Club she went into further detail where she talked about promoting her daughter’s episode of, “My Super Sweet 16,” and not being able to get on the show.
She said, “I will say this. I was out promoting and somebody reached out about me going on a show and her response was they wasn’t allowing any reality stars on the show. So I’m like ‘okay’. I turn next week Tiny and Shekinah is on there. So I’m like ‘Okay, cool. It’s whatever. I’m not tripping off that.’ I did Wendy Williams.”
Ironically when her publicist reached out for her to appear on the show this time, producers said they never heard about her coming on the show before.
She made it clear that she did not do the show to throw any kind of shade, but simply just to promote her project. Nor does she think her appearance was the network’s way of being shady towards Tamar.
Toya admits that she does not have anything against Tamar, but she believes the two were simply not real friends.
“First of all, I hadn’t spoken to Tamar, it was like 8 or 9 months.We don’t talk all the time. We have a mutual friend, which is Tiny, and Tamar and I became friends from Tiny. We were cool, but not to where she’s like my best friend. But I still consider her to be a cool girl,” said Toya.
She even went into more detail where she mentioned the time when Tamar performed with K. Michelle while the two were still at odds. Nonetheless, she still showed her support.
