Tracee Ellis Ross Closes 30 Year Gap & Makes History For Black Women With ‘Blackish’ Emmy Nomination!

It appears as though actress, Tracee Ellis Ross is continuing with her #blackgirlmagic slay!! She visited Good Morning America Thursday, where she spoke about her historic Emmy nomination.

If you didn’t know, Tracee is the first black woman in 30 years to receive an Emmy nomination for outstanding lead actress in a comedy series! Imagine how epic it will be if she wins!!

Speaking on the day that she received the news of her nomination, she told GMA, “So I’m sitting at home watching and it was hilarious. I screamed when Anthony, when he said his name, I was literally like a seal. And then, when he got to my category, I was like, ‘Are they going to go with the Ellis, or the Ross?’ And I was like, ‘Oh God, the E’s are done!'”

Tracee then added,  “My name came up and I jumped up, ran around my dining room table, opened my front door, went in my courtyard and was running around. I was like, ‘What am I doing? I have nowhere to go! Call somebody!’ I left my body. I was so excited.”

To celebrate, the actress told GMA that the Johnson’s (the show’s fictional family) were heading to Disney World! After spilling the beans to her mother, Diana Ross, the icon took out a full-page ad in the Hollywood Reporter in order to congratulate her.
