Whew! Trick Daddy and the Beyhive had us clutching our pearls on Tuesday morning after Trick shared some “unpopular opinions” about Beyoncé and Jay-Z. While speaking in a Clubhouse room on Monday night, Trick expressed that he doesn’t think Beyoncé can sing and said she doesn’t write any music.
“Beyoncé ain’t trynna get back in music, Beyonce don’t write music and barely can sing her mother*cking self. Beyoncé can’t sing,” he said. “Man I watched my god momma train Beyoncé and give her vocal lessons for years, Beyoncé can’t sing.”
Trick woke up on Tuesday morning to his name trending on social media, and took to his radio show to double down on the comments he made!
“What I said was I don’t think Beyoncé can sing, and that Beyoncé is to R&B what Jay-Z was to the state of hip-hop at the time that Jay-Z considered considered himself the GOAT of rap,” Trick said. “Which is my opinion and opinions are like buttholes, if you don’t have them you’ll be full of doo doo.”
“Thats my unpopular opinion,” he continued. “I said many times on the radio they are wonderful business people. Jigga made a lot of money, got a whole lot of money. But did I say anything disrespectful? No. Did I call them out of their names? No I didn’t.”
Trick may not have thought his comments were disrespectful, but the Beyhive definitely wasn’t feeling what he said. Check out some of their reactions below:
