McGee appeared on a recent episode of ‘The Tamron Hall Show.’ Additionally, a clip was shared on YouTube. It showed McGee revealing a major update about her recently announced pregnancy.

“I did lose the baby,” McGee told Hall. “It wasn’t expected it was closer to the end of the first trimester [and] we really don’t have any real reasons why [it happened].”

The 55-year-old explained that despite the outcome, she was still “so grateful” to have been able to conceive at the age of 54. However, nonetheless, she’s still dealt with depression from the recent turn of events.

“[It’s been] a lot of depression after. You know, it’s just kind of hard to get out of bed and, you know, there’s so many things that come when you really want a family, and you want your family to be complete.”

Ultimately, McGee explained that it’s been “very hard” for her to “face the fact” that her desires may not take form at this point in time.

“We’ve been together for sixteen years we’ve known each other for thirty years…. and… when we first got married, we were really busy building our life together. So we didn’t pay as much attention to it.”

McGee explained about five years into their marriage, she and Thedford decided to focus their attention on expanding her family.

“I wanted that experience with my current husband and just knowing so much more at this age you know, when you raise kids young, you miss some things, and I wanted that chance to really pour into a child all the knowledge that I have and get the results of this amazing human being… given what my mind has to offer.”

As The Shade Room previously reported, McGee revealed her pregnancy with a video posted shared on Instagram on June 4.

“At the tender age of 54, I have found myself pregnant. Please bless us with your prayers for a safe delivery. Thank you,” McGee wrote in part at the time.

On the same day, Entertainment Tonight published an exclusive video interview with McGee where she addressed negative comments she received after sharing the milestone at age 54, per The Shade Room.

“I saw some comments about, uh, ‘Shes too old’ and I think I read about three comments of that, and I was like, ‘Dont read that’… I dont partake in any of the negativity anybody has to say about it. I am so happy. I have been blessed, and thats it,” she said at the time.

Furthermore, while speaking with Hall, McGee explained that she believes her purpose may have been to share one important highlight about her experience with the world.

“Along with the criticism, I realized there are so many women who even at 55 and older still want to get pregnant… and I don’t know if I’m here to give advice to everybody… but I do know I took special care, I wanted it… and I really believe relieving the stress… was a real major deal.”
