TSR Positive Images: Charlamagne Establishes $250K Scholarship Fund For Women At South Carolina State University In Honor Of His Mother

TSR Positive Images: Celebrities investing in historically Black colleges and universities? That’s a trend we’d like to see continue! Charlamagne established a $250,000 scholarship fund at South Carolina State University, named after his mother.

Charlamagne’s mom is an SCSU alum, class of 1975. He was presented the scholarship fund check today to the school’s alumni association at the SCSU’s homecoming game.

“The Ford Family Endowed Scholarship Fund”, named after his mother and grandmother’s maiden names, will provide scholarships to Black women in South Carolina who major in English, communications and any woman interested in being a mental health professional, as Charlamagne is a champion of Black mental health.

“Always remember investing in an HBCU is investing in the future of our people so the next time an HBCU asks for money, open that wallet,” Charlamagne said on his Instagram page. “It’s a blessing to be a blessing!”

“All praises due to God!!!,” he continued. “P.S. Speaking of GOD, my creator told me to announce that I’m tapped out until February so to all friends and family don’t even consider calling me this holiday season for nothing. Have a blessed day.”

We applaud Charlamagne’s actions on this one!
