TSR Positive Images: Back in May, we reported on Keanon Lowe and his heroism in preventing a school shooting. The former college athlete and Oregon high school football coach was celebrated after he was able to disarm a student who came to school with a loaded gun and save hundreds of lives with just words and hugs.

Now, video of that actual moment has been released and people are celebrating Lowe’s heroic actions all over again. Watch the powerful video below.

Lowe saved hundreds of lives in May after a student by the name of Granados Dias, unsuccessfully attempted to kill his classmates with a shotgun at  Parkrose High School in Oregon.

The student was taken into police custody following Lowe’s actions and is facing multiple charges including possession of firearm in a public building, attempting to discharge a firearm at a school, reckless endangerment, and possession of a loaded firearm in a public place.

Lowe is a decorated football player, he was a wide receiver for the Oregon Ducks, worked for the San Francisco 49ers as a play analyst and also coaches both football and track & field for the high school. He took to Twitter to talk about his act of heroism, saying: “I’m just happy everyone was OK.” He also added: “I’m happy I was able to be there for the kids and for the community.”

What Keanon Lowe did for his community is something I’m sure no one will forget. An act like that saved the lives of so many students who would have been victims of yet another mass shooting. We truly commend Keanon for his act of bravery!
