TSR Positive Images: T.I. Honored By Georgia State Senate For His Positive Impact On The Community

According to @wsbtv, T.I. was reportedly recognized at the Georgia State Senate for his outreach initiatives and philanthropic work in the community.

State Sen. Donzella Jones sponsored the resolution that celebrated T.I for his non-profit organizations “Harris Community Works”, which is an outreach program for the underprivileged and disadvantaged, and “For the Love Of Our Fathers”, which helps people with Alzheimer’s and dementia.

Both organizations have personal ties to Tip’s family, and some of the things they have had to overcome together.

“I have haphazardly stumbled into a lot of different things: activism, politics, real estate. That’s nothing I planned on. ” T.I. told Atlanta Magazine in an interview. “That was me responding to the needs within my community. My community helped me become who i am. That was my first audience.”

T.I.’s history of giving back to his community is not a short one, though. After deciding to turn away from his days of drug dealing in Atlanta, he has since given charitably in many different ways.

He’s donated his time and money to local organizations like the Boys & Girls Clubs, has spoken in Atlanta area schools as part of his post-prison service agreement and he has hosted annual Thanksgiving turkey giveaways and Christmas toy drives for families in need.

In light of the recent issues we have encountered with police brutality, T.I. has also become an outspoken activist for the community. Joining other community members in protest and calling for boycotts of corporations like Starbucks, Tip has never been afraid to stand up for and represent his community.

Most recently, T.I. spoke out about designer brands like Gucci and their controversial and racially offensive incidents.
