TSR Sports: NFL Suspends Myles Garrett Indefinitely Without Pay After He Incited A Fight On The Field

Roommates, if y’all watched last night’s game between the Steelers and Browns, you know things got a little hectic on the field! Unfortunately, defensive end Myles Garrett is the one who will be paying the price, according to NFL.com.

During a play, a referee threw the flag after Myles showed unnecessary roughness in his tackle. Well, things escalated quickly, and Myles grabbed the helmet off of #MasonRudolph’s head, and hit him with it.

Many other players began to get involved once things got too crazy, and Garrett’s teammate, Larry Ogunjobi started throwing hands too! He has also been suspended without pay.

The NFL issued a press release making it clear that the behavior exhibited on the field last night was unacceptable. they also state that both teams will be filed $250,000 each on top of player being suspended.

“Garrett has been suspended without pay indefinitely-at a minimum for the remainder of the regular season and postseason,” the release says. “Garrett violated unnecessary roughness and unsportsmanlike conduct rules, as well as fighting, removing the helmet of an opponent and using it as a weapon.”

Myles Garrett will also be required to meet with the Commissioner before a decision is made on whether or not he will be reinstated to play.

The Cleveland Browns have since issued a statement, apologizing to Mason Rudolph, and explaining they do not tolerate fighting amongst players.

“We are extremely disappointed in what transpired last evening at the end of our game,” Browns owners Dee and Jimmy Haslam said in a statement. “There is no place for. that in football and that is not reflective of the core values we strive for as an organization. We sincerely apologize to Mason Rudolph and the Pittsburgh Steelers.”

Each player involved in the altercation has the ability to appeal their punishments within three days. They will be required to stand before the NFL and the NFL Players Association to plead their cases.
