In all. that has been said and done in Meek Mill’s unfortunate squabble with the Cosmopolitan hotel, he has finally decided to sue the hotel for discrimination.
Meek Mill will reportedly file the lawsuit this week against the hotel for ordering him to leave the grounds and threatening him with arrest. How lawyer, Joe Tacopina, has now vowed to destroy the hotel for its actions.
Tacopina tells TMZ he will ask a judge for “heavy monetary damages” for “lying and humiliating Meek,” adding, “I’m going to take this place down because of what they did.”
Employees from the hotel have now provided two different reasons for not allowing Meek on the premises, despite giving him. no explanation at the time that he was present. On one hand, employees claim Meek was previously involved in a physical altercation with hotel security, and on the other hand, managers claimed the hotel was at capacity for visitors.
Meek’s lawyer, however, believes the hotel, along with many others, are purposely barring African American rappers from their hotels. He claims there’s a list of rappers who are not welcome at Vegas hotels, including Yo Gotti and BlocBoy JB.
Meek is receiving ample support from other rappers as well. Yo Got tells TMZ he has experienced similar discrimination at Cosmopolitan, and other hotels in Vegas.
“It’s a disgrace that these establishments continue to judge us by the color of our skin and our professions instead of recognizing our artistry and dedication to our communities. I stand with Meek Mill and all my peers in the hip-hop community that have been disrespected by placed like the Cosmopolitan.”
