Roommates, Lil Uzi has been very public about his struggles with his mental health and his unfortunate battle with his record label, and not being able to release his album, ‘Eternal Atake’.
In several posts on his Instagram story, Uzi addressed his situation by starting a #FreeUzi campaign in honor of his next album. In one of his most recent posts in the studio, Uzi tagged and thanked Roc Nation.
According to @complex, Uzi is now being managed by #RocNation, a large factor in the defense of many artists. As of late, #JayZ has been using his influence to work behind the scenes and help artists navigate their legal and business deals.
Most recently, #Jigga and Roc Nation joined #21Savage in his legal battle after he was arrested and detained by ICE. 21’s fight for freedom was one that Jay felt needed his team’s legal expertise, so they hired their legal team to help.
“The arrest and detention of 21 Savage is an absolute travesty, his U via petition has been pending for 4 years,” Jay said in an official statement. In addition to being a successful recording artist, 21 deserves to be reunited with his children immediately.”
Jigga also helped artists like Lil Wayne when he was being held back by Cash Money and couldn’t create nor release ay music. Not only did Tidal and Roc Nation allow Wayne to release his ‘Free Weezy’ album in 2015, but Jay also helped Weezy pay his taxes during his label dispute.
Generation Now has not commented on the state of Uzi’s album, however, Dj Drama did take to social media to express that Uzi could release his album “any day he wants”.
It is still unclear whether or not Uzi will be releasing his album, however, he took to Instagram to express his gratitude to Roc Nation for helping him get back in the studio.
