Back in 2019, Ruth first made history when she won an Oscar for her work in “Black Panther,” making her the first black woman to win the award for costume design. Her work has been featured in many classic films, and we’ll get to see her work in the upcoming film “Coming 2 America.”

According to Variety, Ruth talked about getting her star and said, “The first thing I wanted to see when I moved to Los Angeles in 1986 was Hollywood Boulevard and the Walk of Fame. I think those stars are synonymous with Hollywood past and present.”

Some of the classic films Ruth has designed for include “School Daze,” “Do The Right Thing,” “Crooklyn,” “What’s Love Got To Do With It,” “Love & Basketball,” “B*A*P*S,” “Malcolm X” and a long list of other films.

Congrats to Ruth E. Carter for recieving her star.
