#TSRPositiveImages: Beyoncé & Jay Z Helped Raise Over $6 Million For Organization Focused On Cancer Research & Treatment!

The Carters are known for giving back and last week they secured a big bag toward cancer treatment. The billion dollar couple hosted a star-studded gala for City Of Hope, and according to the organization, Beyoncé and Jay Z were able to help raise $6 million dollars!

City Of Hope is a non-profit that focuses on cancer research and treatment. CEO Robert Stone said Bey and Jay came on board “immediately” to help with the cause.

“We find partners in the honorees and the honorees help arrange the talent. So Jon Platt is a tremendous partner and compassionate and passionate person who’s joined this fight all in. And Jon’s the one who made the call to Beyonce and Jay-Z, who said yes immediately,” he told Forbes. Platt, who Jay Z refers to as Big Jon, is the CEO and Chairman of Warner/Chappell Publishing.

“I can’t think of anyone more deserving to be prized in front of their peers and in front of the world than my brother, Jon Platt, the artist formerly known as Big Jon,” Jay Z said while introducing Platt for the Spirit Of Life Award. He went on to call him “the Obama of the music industry.”

Beyonce shared her excitement about the event’s success on Instagram. “It was my pleasure to honor my friend Jon Platt for all the good work he does for The City of Hope,” she wrote. “City of Hope makes creating medical miracles its priority in the fight against cancer and life-threatening diseases. If you’d like to help, you can contact them at cityofhope.org.”

Other celebs in attendance last week included Dr. Dre, Tiffany Haddish, Usher, Quincy Jones, Bebe Rexha, Wiz Khalifa, Timbaland, Kelly Rowland and Rita Ora.
