#TSRPositiveImages: Big Sean Gifts $100K Recording Studio To Detroit Boys & Girls Club

It’s always good when a celebrity puts their money where their mouth is—and Big Sean is the latest to do it in a very big way, with the Detroit youth reaping the benefits.

As reported by @thegrio, Detroit’s own Big Sean is giving back to the community that raised him by donating a state-of-the-art recording studio to the local Boys & Girls Club worth a whopping $100,000. During a recent performance at his second annual DON (Detroit’s On Now) Weekend, Big Sean revealed the new music studio at the Dauch Boys & Girls Club.

After launching his Sean Anderson Foundation back in 2012, his continuous funding allowed the $100,000 newly remodeled recording facility to become a reality. The Sean Anderson Foundation Content & Production Studio will be accessible to both students and adults. He also did a similar deed when he opened a fully equipped music studio in 2015 at his alma mater, Detroit’s Cass Tech.

Discussing giving back to his hometown, Big Sean had this to say:

“The west side of Detroit is my old neighborhood. It’s a full-circle moment when your neighborhood supports you and holds you high, and you’re in a position to be able to hold it up in your own way and take it further.”

We’re sure the young people of Detroit are more than grateful for the generosity that one of their hometown heroes has shown them. Good job Big Sean!
