Jussie Smollett is setting the mood for the holiday season, and displaying the perfect example of giving back as he is donating $125,000 to different charities.
According to TMZ, the “Empire” star is taking the proceeds from his latest album “Sum Of My Music,” and donating the money to charities that support different causes.
A list of some the charities that Smollett is supporting include the Black AIDS Institute, Flint KIDS, South Africa’s SKY Foundation, the Trayvon Martin Foundation, the Human Rights Campaign, Know Your Rights Camp, ACLU and the Anthony Burrell Dance School.
Smollett’s debut album released back in March, and he hit the road over the summer to support the project.
However, giving back is nothing new to Smollett. Last month, we reported that he surprised Kayden Kinckle — who was born with a birth defect called omphalocele — and his family with a new handicap-accessible van to help make life just a little bit easier.
Kayden’s mom told us, “It’s so hard lifting that wheel chair in and out my trunk and down 2 flights of steps daily. This was definitely a gift out of love and concern.”
It’s great to see Jussie Smollett continue to give back to the community!
