Earlier today we reported that the beautiful and talented Halle Bailey of the sister duo ChloeXHalle, has been cast as Ariel in Disney’s upcoming live-action remake of the classic “The Little Mermaid.”
As you know, social media always has a reaction. So we made sure to collect some of the best reactions going on over on Black Twitter.
Now there were some people not too happy to hear about Halle earning the role. Nonetheless, you know there was a tribe holding it down for her and celebrating her accomplishment.
After the news was announced Halle took to social media to respond to the news and posted a photo with an African American Ariel and said, “dream come true.”
For those who are not familiar with Halle, she and her sister Chloe are signed to Beyoncé’s label Parkwood Entertainment. The singing sister-duo was first recognized by Queen Bey through their cover videos, which were posted to YouTube.
Back in 2018, they released their debut studio album “The Kids Are Alright,” which earned them their first two Grammy nominations for Best New Artist and Best Urban Contemporary Album.
Aside from their music, both ChloeXHalle also stars on the Freeform hit show “Grown-ish,” alongside Yara Shahidi, Trevor Jackson, Francia Raisa, Diggy Simmons and a host of others.
