Hey, Roommates!! #BlackHistoryMonth is coming to a close and it got us reflecting about how lit this month actually was. From Beyoncé announcing that she was pregnant with twins to #Solange winning her first Grammy and #ViolaDavis snagging her first Oscar, Black History Month was filled with celebratory moments. Let’s take a trip down memory lane!
1.) Viola Davis won her first Oscar and made history as the first African-American woman to win an Oscar, (two) Tony awards and an Emmy for acting!! She lit!!
2.) After dropping one of the most artistic and vulnerable albums of all time, Solange won her first Grammy for ‘Cranes in the Sky’!
3.) Moonlight took home the highly coveted Oscar for Best Picture on Sunday’s Academy Awards! #BlackBoyJoy
4.) Childish Gambino took home a Golden Globe for his show, Atlanta. During his acceptance speech, he shouted out Migos ‘ ‘Bad & Boujee’ tecord which skyrocketed streaming and ultimately helped to sustain its #1 spot on the chart.
5.) Nicki, Lil Wayne and Meek Mill appeared to be making a comeback when Nicki posted a picture of the three of them together. We sure hope that they’ll bless us one time!
6.) Remy Ma came for Nicki Minsk’s neck with her ‘ShEther’ record! This beef is pretty much likened to Jay-Z and Nas, so it’ll be interesting to see how it plays out!
7.) The Migos landed their first Billboard Hot 100 #1 hit with ‘Bad and Boujee’
8.) Chance the Rapper proved that you can stay independent and win a Grammy! He won his first one this month.

9.) Beyoncé kicked off Black History Month by announcing that she’s carrying twins! She also made history by having the most liked picture on Instagram!
10.) While it happened just a few days before Black History Month, Carolyn Bryant told author Timothy Tyson that her testimony against Emmett Till was a lie. She was the reason why he was murdered and although her admission was very, very late this news set the tone for what was to come!#BihBettaHaveMyJustice!
