Just days after he announced his resignation, former #Baltimore police officer #ArthurWilliams has been indicted on assault and misconduct charges that stem from a viral video that showed him beating a man.
The officer is accused of first and second-degree assault and misconduct in office, Baltimore States Attorney #MarilynMosby announced today, according to CNN. A warrant has been issued for his arrest. The video showed him repeatedly punching #DashawnMcGrier and McGriers attorney claims the officer had a history of antagonizing his client.
Authorities say criminal charges will not be brought against a second officer seen in the video who was watching the attack and didnt do much to intervene. Officials also say that Williams was a newly sworn probationary officer.
