#TSRUpdatez: Brett Kavanaugh Has Been Confirmed To The Supreme Court

The #Senate has confirmed #BrettKavanaugh to the #SupremeCourt this afternoon following an #FBI investigation into sexual assault claims made against him.

Despite emotional testimony from one of his accusers, #DrChristineBlaseyFord, a Senate committee moved forward with Kavanaughs nomination from Trump in an 11-10 vote, pushing the vote to the Senate.

His confirmation to the Supreme Court secures a conservative majority. The final vote was interrupted several times by protesters as senators sat silent at their desks for the formal roll call vote, @CNN reports.

“I do not consent, where’s my representation,” a protestor yelled.

The confirmation marks a major victory for Trump, who will soon be able to say he appointed two conservative justices to the Supreme Court during his relatively brief time in office.

The vote was likely to be in Trumps favor as conservatives promised their support of Kavanaugh and had the votes to successfully confirm him. Still, #Democrats rallied against the nomination in Senate floor speeches Friday night and Saturday morning. Protest opposing Kavanaugh are expected throughout the day.

As we previously reported, the Senate vote came after Trump ordering an FBI investigation to update Judge Kavanaughs file. It was supposed to happen under a week.

The investigation was ordered following Fords testimony to a Senate committee. She testified that Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her while they were both teenagers in the early 1980s. She told the committee she is 100 percent certain it was Kavanaugh who attacked her at a party in 1982.

Kavanaugh denied that allegation and other accusations of sexual misconduct he has faced in recent days and blamed Democrats for what he said was a calculated and orchestrated political hit designed to keep him off the Supreme Court. He also refused to support the FBI investigation.

Well keep you updated on the latest, #Roommates!
