#Roommates, do you remember the disastrous #FyreFestival that left hundreds of people stranded in the Bahamas with dangerous living conditions? Well, the founder #BillyMcFarland is paying for misleading customers and fraudulently collecting millions of dollars from investors!
According to @CNBC, Billy has pled guilty to two counts of wire fraud, a crime that carries a maximum sentence of 20 years for each count. The sentence itself however will be determined by the judge in the case.
U.S attorney #GeoffreyBerman confirmed Billy has admitted to his crimes and will be awaiting sentencing saying: “As he admitted today, William McFarland tendered fake documents to induce investors and a ticket vendor to put more than $26 million into his company and the disastrous Fyre Festival. He now awaits sentencing for his admitted swindle.”
