Just last week Amanda Gorman made history by becoming the youngest inaugural poet in U.S. history when she read her poem “The Hill We Climb,” at the inauguration for President Joe Biden, and Vice President Kamala Harris.
Now it looks like Amanda’s bag is about to get bigger thanks to her new modeling contract.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Amanda is now signed with IMG Models, and the agency will focus on getting her brand endorsements and editorial opportunities. The 22-year-old’s team now also includes Writers House, WME, and the law firm Gang, Tyre, Ramer, Brown, and Passman.
THR also reports that following her performance during the inauguration her social platforms have grown into the millions, and she has already started making fashion statements, thanks to her bright and fashionable inauguration look.
Vogue reports that following the inauguration ceremony, the red satin Prada headband that Amanda wore has completely sold out.
As previously reported, Amanda was invited by Dr. Jill Biden to speak at the inauguration after watching her read at the Library of Congress.
Prior to her historical performance at the inauguration Amanda spoke about her poem to the New York Times and said, “In my poem, I’m not going to in any way gloss over what we’ve seen over the past few weeks and, dare I say, the past few years. But what I really aspire to do in the poem is to be able to use my words to envision a way in which our country can still come together and can still heal. It’s doing that in a way that is not erasing or neglecting the harsh truths I think America needs to reconcile with.”
