#Roommates, this week has been a range of emotions for all who were incredibly worried and praying for 16-year-old Bronx, New York resident Karol Sanchez, who was initially thought to have been kidnapped on the street while walking with her mother. Unfortunately, she later confessed to staging the entire incident because she didn’t want to move back to Honduras with her family—but now even more shocking details have emerged.
After an intense search and overwhelming social media support, many were shocked and angered to discover that Karol Sanchez staged her entire kidnapping. As NYC police continue to investigate the situation, several new details have emerged. @NYPost reports, Karol’s decision to fake her kidnapping was not only because she didn’t want to move—it was also because she reportedly wanted to be with her 23-year-old boyfriend, who is an alleged member of the Crips gang.
Her boyfriend, whose identity has not been released to the public, was reportedly previously arrested on murder and attempted charges and he has a long criminal record. He was also one of the four men who were in the vehicle when Karol was taken as her terrified mother watched in horror.
Authorities say that as of right now, Karol is not expected to face any charges for her role in the fake kidnapping, but that could possibly change as more developments unravel in the case. Additionally, there are currently no updates regarding the other three men who were also involved in the incident.
Contrary to earlier reports, the Sanchez family are not residents of the Bronx, they actually reside in Poughquag and were visiting relatives at the time of the staged incident.
