Following his murder conviction, former #BalchSprings Officer Roy Oliver was sentenced to 15 years in prison today for the fatal shooting of 15-year-old #JordanEdwards.
Prosecutors asked the judge in the case to give Oliver at least 60 years for the April 2017 slaying of Jordan while the defense argued for 20 years or less, according to @CNN.
A #DallasCounty jury deliberated for 12 hours before announcing a guilty verdict on Tuesday. Oliver fired multiple shots in a car, striking and killing Jordan, who was leaving a house party the officer responded to. Jordan was not involved in any crime that night.
