Roommates, as you know, XXXTentatcion fathered a child before he passed. Since his son, Gekyume Onfroy was born, Gekyume’s mother, Jenesis Sanchez requested a sample of XXX’s DNA. While Jenesis claims that no one has questioned XXX’s paternity, she still wanted to legally establish him as the father, thus requesting his DNA for a DNA test. XXX’s mother, #CleopatraBernard denied the request, so Jenesis turned to a judge for results.
Overall, according to The Blast, Jenesis requested that the court “allow scientific testing of biological samples of XXXTentacion and Gekyume to establish him legally as the father;” and asked if the court could make the Broward County Medical Examiner and Trauma Services “provide DNA samples of XXX to the scientific testing lab.”
The judge ruled in Jenesis’ favor and is now allowed to obtain a sample of his DNA from the medical examiner. We hear that XXX’s mom sealed her court filings in opposition, which means not many know her reason for trying to block Jenesis’ access to XXX’s DNA.
After XXX’s passing, it was his mother who revealed that he had a son on the way and even provided updates along the way. Back in February, Jenesis spoke out in an interview about her relationship with XXXTentacion, the meaning of their son’s name and how his legacy will live on through their son.
“Gekyume means ‘different state’ or ‘next universe’ of thought. And yes, Jahseh picked out this name before he passed away. I know it’s kind of hard to say, Gekyume. So, he goes by Yume,” Jenesis said. As far as her relationship with XXX, she said, “Me and Jahseh (XXXTentacion’s real name), we are like hermit crabs. We didn’t like to go out. We spent a lot of time at home. We spent a lot of time playing video games. We really didn’t care to go out because even if we did, people were noticing him. We even got to the point where we would go grocery shopping sometimes at midnight.”
