Two McDonald’s Employees Shot By Oklahoma City Woman Who Was Upset She Couldn’t Eat Inside Due To COVID-19 Restrictions

#Roommates, in an effort to curb the stop of the highly contagious coronavirus, strict precautions have been made for safety—especially for restaurants. Apparently, a local Oklahoma City woman either wasn’t aware of these safety measures or she didn’t care because she became so upset that she couldn’t eat inside a McDonald’s that she shot two employees.

@ABCNews reports, a local McDonald’s in Oklahoma City turned from a fast food restaurant into a crime scene—when two employees were shot and a third was injured after a female customer allegedly became so enraged after learning that she couldn’t dine inside due to coronavirus restrictions. The shocking incident happened earlier this week at a McDonald’s in the southwest region of the city. The female suspect fled the crime scene, but was luckily arrested just a few blocks away and taken into custody where she is awaiting official charges..

According to employees at the scene, a physical altercation began between the female suspect and a female employee, who reportedly fell and hit her head at some point during the fight. That’s when things got even more serious, as the suspect then left the McDonald’s premises and went to her car to get a gun. Upon her return inside the restaurant, she began to fire off multiple shots and shooting two employees and injuring a third. Those employees suffered wounds to the arm, neck and shoulder areas.

Captain Larry Withrow of the Oklahoma City Police Department, released a statement describing the incident:

“The suspect left the restaurant briefly and returned with a handgun and fired multiple shots. One male employee was shot in the arm. Another male employee was hit in the neck and shoulder area by what is described by police as bullet shrapnel. A third male employee also suffered from bullet shrapnel in his side.”

McDonald’s CEO Chris Kempczinski, discussed the shooting in a recent interview:

“Obviously it’s a heinous crime, particularly because these two people were trying to really support public health. I think what you’re seeing in this situation is really what you’re seeing in a variety of situations across the country, which is this tension about (re)opening. But there’s absolutely no excuse for violence, particularly gun violence. So I’m just happy our people are going to be okay.”

The three employees were immediately taken to the hospital and none of their injuries are considered life threatening.
