U.S. Coronavirus Death Toll Rises To Six As Latest Victim Passes Away In Washington State

#Roommates, the deadly coronavirus outbreak continues to wreak havoc and the U.S. is firmly in its wake. Just a few days ago the first deaths from the virus occurred in the U.S. and now that toll has officially risen to six—as four additional people in Washington State have died after contracting the fatal virus.

@CNN reports, health officials have now confirmed that a total of six people from Washington State have succumbed to their symptoms from contracting the coronavirus, per confirmation from health officials. The latest person to die was from Snohomish County, according to Heather Thomas, spokesperson with the Snohomish Health District. The five other people who died were from King County, based on recent public health records.

The impact of the coronavirus is even more devastating worldwide. To date, over 3,000 people have died as a result of it, with a large majority of victims coming from mainland China. There are now more than 88,000 global cases—and infections are now on every continent except Antarctica.

Signaling just how widespread the coronavirus has become, Europe has now raised its alert level. Over the weekend, there was a massive 50% increase of cases of the virus in Italy. Similarly, Germany also saw significant gains of the virus and Paris is taking extra precaution as well by closing the Louvre, one of the world’s biggest tourist attractions.

Back in the U.S., California, New York and Atlanta have also reported coronavirus cases although none of these locations have experienced any deaths as of right now.
