Amid the Coronavirus pandemic, it is very important to stay as sanitary as possible. The Center for Disease Control and Prevention is constantly adding new guidelines for minimizing the transference and reception of COVID-19. Just recently, the Environmental Protection Agency has confirmed that the cleaning product Pine-Sol kills coronavirus on hard surfaces.
Yep! You heard it. The simple product in the majority of people’s households, and a staple in most African American’s cleaning cabinets, has now been proven to defeat the coronavirus within minutes. According to CNN “Pine-Sol was tested by a third-party laboratory that showed the disinfectant can kill the virus within 10 minutes of being used on hard, nonporous surfaces, The Clorox Company said in a press release.”
Pine-Sol is a product under the Clorox brand, thus explaining why its effective for eliminating COVID 19 in particular places. After continuous testing throughout the last few months, results have shown that “Pine-Sol Original Multi-Surface Cleaner now offers the clean families have trusted through generations with the protection they need right now against the spread of SARS-Cov-2, the virus that causes COVID-19,” Chris Hyder, vice president and general manager of the Clorox Company’s cleaning division, said in a press release.”

In order to make the most of the Pine-Sol cleanse, it is important you utilize the product specifically. To disinfect against SARS-Cov-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, apply the Pine-Sol Original Multi-Surface Cleaner full-strength with a clean sponge or cloth on hard, nonporous surfaces,” the company’s press release states. “Wet surface, let stand 10 minutes, and then rinse. For heavily soiled surfaces, pre-cleaning to remove excess dirt first is required,” according to The Clorox Company.
Nevertheless, it is important to still use good ole’ soap and water! According to CNN, “Handwashing with soap and water is still the best way to prevent transmission of the virus, according to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.”
