United Airlines Flight Evacuated At Houston Airport After Catching Fire Before Takeoff

Passengers on a United Airlines flight from Houston to New York had to evacuate before takeoff on Sunday, Feb. 2 after the plane experienced engine trouble, according to the Federal Aviation administration.

Details On United Airlines Plane That Caught Fire

A passenger on board captured video showing smoke and flames shooting from the wing of the plane, which Fox26Houston later shared. CNN reports that 104 passengers and five crew members exited the aircraft on the runway using slides and stairs.

United Airlines later rebooked the passengers on an afternoon flight, per CNN. ABC News says the Houston Fire Department responded to the scene and confirmed no one was injured.

Info About Explosive Fire After Philadelphia Plane Crash

The United Airlines engine issue happened just two days after a small plane went down in Northeast Philadelphia on Jan. 31. As TSR previously reported, the crash caused an explosion near homes, cars, and the streets of Cottman Avenue and Roosevelt Boulevard.

According to 6abc, the jet was on a medical mission headed to Tijuana, Mexico. Six passengers onboard were Mexican nationals, including a child patient traveling with their mother. The other four were reportedly a pilot, copilot, doctor, and paramedic.
