(Update) Family From Viral Sesame Place Video Hires An Attorney To Investigate Incident

As many of you know, over the weekend, Sesame Place in Philadelphia was put on blast after a mother shared a video where Black children were seemingly being ignored by the performer in the Rosita costume. It didn’t take too long for other parents to share their videos as they noticed a pattern and called the park’s performers out for their treatment of Black children. Now it looks like the family from the viral video has hired an attorney and will be taking things a step further.

According to TMZ, B’Ivory LaMarr, the attorney hired by the family, shares they want to investigate the incident by interviewing those who were also in attendance at the park, as well as other families that have similar videos.

LaMarr said, “While we hate to rush to judgment to consider ‘race’ as the motivating factor to explain the performer’s actions, such actions both before and after the young girl’s request only lead to one conclusion.”

At the moment, all course of action is on the table, including a possible lawsuit says LaMarr.

As previously reported, Sesame Place released a statement after the video went viral and reassured people that they stand for “inclusivity and equality in all forms.” They also said that the performer in the video made the “no” gesture in response to a request to hold a child for a photo moment. However, the mother who shared the video said, she didn’t ask for a photo, nor does she believe anyone around asked for a photo either.

She accused the park of trying to “save face” after releasing their initial statement and added that the statement was “disrespectful and distasteful. Talk about adding insult to injury. I will repost this video every day until it is rectified.”

Not too long after, more parents began to share their videos and also accused the performers at the park of neglecting their children due to the color of their skin.

As more parents shared their videos on social media, Sesame Place released an additional statement.
