Here’s What Jamichael Jones Pled Guilty For

As mentioned, Jamichael Jones slayed Trouble, real name Mariel Orr, after trespassing into the home of his former girlfriend. During the investigation, police uncovered footage of Jamichael entering Lake St. James Apartments at about 3:14 a.m. on June 5, 2022. The Atlanta rapper was asleep in the woman’s bed when Jones forced his way through the front door. Jones reportedly punched the woman in the face while she was asleep in bed and then got into a fight with Trouble as he tried to step in. Jamichael Jones then shot the rapper once in the chest and left the scene at around 3:21 a.m. Trouble later died at the Rockdale County Piedmont Hospital. Jamichael Jones’ mother later convinced him to turn himself in for the murder, per Fox 5 Atlanta.

Details About Sentencing Of Man Who Killed Trouble

Jones has been in custody at Rockdale County Jail without bond since June 2022. He was initially facing a rack of charges. They included malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during a crime, second-degree criminal damage to property, and family violence with simple battery.

However, before jury selection on Friday, prosecutors announced that he accepted a plea deal for the lesser charge of voluntary manslaughter. All other charges were dropped. In total, Jones was sentenced to 20 years in prison, but he will get credit for time served.
