Dave East Pepper-Sprayed By Montreal Cops After Concert

Video Shows Montreal Police Using Pepper Spray On Dave East After Concert

Dave East took a trip to Montreal, Canada, to put on a show for his fans. But, after what looked like a verbal tussle, local cops are sending him back to the States with burning eyes. A circulating video seemingly shows police officers pepper-spraying the “Perfect” rapper.

According to Complex Canada, Dave East held the concert on Dec. 19 at Le Rouge Bar. The outlet and Yahoo Entertainment have said it’s unclear what led the police to the venue. However, several videos show a lil’ bit of what went down.

One clip reportedly shows the Service de Police de la Ville de Montreal (SPVM) telling a French patron they plan to search everyone in the venue. Meanwhile, another shows East telling concert attendees that “the boys” had arrived. He also clarified his intent.

“I don’t want no problems, you heard,” the rapper said on the mic. “They just let a n***a get over here. I want to keep it cool.”

As Dave East exited the venue, one woman dressed in a tan winter coat rubbed his shoulders and repeatedly said, “Sorry.” That circulating clip doesn’t explain if she was a fan or connected to the venue. However, East wasn’t here for the close contact. He turned around as the woman trailed him and delivered a firm “quit touching me” while walking with his entourage. Afterward, he’s seen crossing a busy street toward a group of local cops.

Video Shows Dave East Reacting To Pepper-Spray From Montreal Cops

A close-up video of Dave East shows him speaking to what looks like a group of people as they all stand near the police.

Visibility irritated, Dave turned to a few women and said, “That’s all we did,” before turning to the cops and shouting, “What the hell are y’all doing?”

He seemingly added, “Why are y’all acting like that?”

Despite his elevated voice, Dave East’s interaction with the local police appeared non-violent. Meanwhile, in the background, viewers can hear the police sounding off whistles every few seconds, seemingly attempting to break up the crowds.

Then, suddenly, a cloud of pepper spray was released in Dave East’s face. He quickly turned his body as the pepper spray kept coming. It appeared to be coming from more than one officer, but that remains unconfirmed.

East moved away from the police group, visibility clutching his face and using water to alleviate his eyes, per Complex Canada.

When this article was published, Dave East hadn’t responded to the incident via his social media or elsewhere.
