Waka Flocka Criticizes Viral “Flip The Switch Challenge”

Waka Flocka stirred the pot today when he openly criticized the new viral “Flip the Switch” challenge.

If you don’t have TikTok or just came off a social media cleanse and have no idea of what we’re talking about, the challenge involves at least two people switching places to Drake’s song “Nonstop,” intentionally at the part where he says, “I just flipped the switch.”

Most of the time the challenge features a male and a female switching places when the light flickers on and off and that seems to be what Waka Flocka took issue with.

#WakaFlocka has some criticism for those doing the #FlipTheSwitch challenge

A post shared by The Shade Room (@theshaderoom) on

Waka’s post said, “This flip the switch challenge making me realize a lot,” along with the following caption: “Never will I act or dress like a female: Not for promo. Not for comedy and damn sure not for a f*****g challenge, Where’s the be a real man challenge…it’s like being feminine a wave…please stay WOKE.”

Waka’s post was met with mixed reaction. While some agreed with him, others felt he was overreacting to a challenge that people are having fun with.

On a more serious note, others accused Waka of showing toxic masculinity and spewing anti-LGBTQ rhetoric, which isn’t the first time he’s been accused of expressing anti-queer sentiments.

Back in 2015, Waka Flocka got into a bit of controversy after some statements he made about the transgender community while on The Breakfast Club.

“You know what the world is today? Women are afraid to be a wife. Young males are afraid to be men. It’s not cool. They’re not marketing that. They’re not marketing young families and husbands and wives anymore. They’re marketing young girls and transgenders…like they’re marketing evil man, it’s evil.”

He also made some comments about Caitlyn Jenner’s transition that received a lot of backlash.

Waka’s wife Tammy Rivera had to tell her husband about himself today and it looks like several people echoed her sentiments:
