Walmart Removes Knockoff Yeezy Foam Runners Following Kanye West Lawsuit

#Roommates, it didn’t take long for Walmart to get the message that Kanye West was not playing around with his recent lawsuit. Following the previous news that Kanye had filed a formal lawsuit against the popular retailer for selling bootleg Yeezy Foam Runners, Walmart has officially pulled the knockoffs from its website.

@TMZ_TV reports, apparently Walmart wasn’t ready to go head-to-head with Kanye West in court over selling fake versions of his highly popular Yeezy Foam Runner shoes—as the company has decided to remove all of the knockoffs from its website permanently.

However, you’ll recall that initially Walmart claimed that the knockoffs were from a third-party seller and the company itself was not behind the manufacturing of the shoes, but Yeezy still wasn’t having it. The Walmart knockoffs were selling for $25, while the real ones designed by Kanye currently retail for $75.

As we previously reported, legal documents were recently filed showing that Kanye was suing Walmart for selling the shoes after his initial request for the company to remove them from the website went ignored. The documents also stated that by Walmart selling the knockoffs, it’s costing the Yeezy brand hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue. Walmart was further accused of attempting to capitalize on Kanye’s name and popularity in order to make a profit from the shoes.

Additionally according to reports, Kanye and his legal team are possibly looking at going the legal route against other companies and websites selling knockoff versions of his shoes and other Yeezy merchandise.
