#WhereTheyAtNow: Remember The Dancer F*cking It Up During The Intro To ‘Living Single’?!

#LivingSingle was one of the most iconic shows of the 90’s as it perfectly showcased the woes of being a black and single as well as the challenges of being a working class citizen in the 90’s. The cast certainly made the show, but so did the show’s intro!

Every episode of Living Single opened with an anonymous dancer who was dancing DOWN to the series theme song featuring vocals from #QueenLatifah. When I tell y’all I used to get my ENTIRE LIFE!! Every chance I got I mimicked the moves and would be sweating with by the time the 30 second jingle ended.

Anyway, that dancer’s name is Leslie “Big Lez” Segar (@yourgirllez) and she was known for her fierce dance style with the bawdy to match back in the 90’s. Her nickname was coined from her more muscular frame and athletic ability.

Throughout her career, Lez was a personal trainer to the stars and hosted hosted Rap City for 5 years. In addition to that, she made a name for herself as a host on 92.3 The Beat in Los Angeles, NYC’s Hot 97 and V103 in Atlanta. Segar even made a cameo as the Master Sounds 98.3 DJ on Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.

Today, she continues with personal training, choreography and serves as radio host. Thank you, Lez, for your media and dance contributions!!
