If you haven’t had a chance to try Popeyes’ chicken sandwich, well now it may be too late, Roomies.
Popeyes officially announced today that it is sold out of chicken sandwiches nationwide after selling through a batch in two weeks that was supposed to reportedly last until October, according to Business Insider.
“We love that you love The Sandwich,” Popeyes tweeted. “Unfortunately we’re sold out (for now).”
“The demand for the new chicken sandwich in the first few weeks following launch far exceeded our very optimistic expectations,” the company said. “In fact, Popeyes aggressively forecasted demand through the end of September and has already sold through that inventory.”
But if you’re wondering when the sandwich will make its return, Popeyes unfortunately did not provide a timeline for that.
“We, along with our suppliers, are working tirelessly to bring the new sandwich back to guests as soon as possible,” Popeyes said.
The company is, however, encouraging its customers to turn on their notifications so they can be the first to know when the sandwich will return.
The demand soared for Popeyes’ new chicken sandwich after the company went toe-to-toe with rival Chick-fil-A on Twitter as it rolled out the new menu item.
As y’all know, chaos has since ensued over this sandwich, including long lines and fights.
