It looks like the rona is all up and through the White House as another person has tested positive for the virus. On Monday it was announced that the White House Secretary Kayleigh McEnany has tested positive for COVID-19.
According to The Hill, McEnany spoke about her diagnosis in a statement and said, “After testing negative consistently, including every day since Thursday, I tested positive for COVID-19 on Monday morning while experiencing no symptoms. No reporters, producers, or members of the press are listed as close contacts by the White House Medical Unit.”
McEnany is just one of several people that has tested positive for the virus after Trump revealed last week Thursday that he and his wife Melania tested positive.
“As an essential worker, I have worked diligently to provide needed information to the American people at this time. With my recent positive test, I will begin the quarantine process and will continue working on behalf of the American people remotely,” said McEnany.
Two assistant press secretaries that work in the White House’s West Wing have also tested positive, as well as, Hope Hicks, Trump’s campaign manager, Bill Stepie, former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, who was assisted Trump before the first presidential debate, and former White House Adviser Kellyanne Conway also tested positive.
Many of the people who have tested positive so far were also present for Trump’s event in the Rose Garden where he announced Amy Coney Barrett as his nominee to the Supreme Court.
The Hill notes that after Trump announced that he tested positive for the virus, McEnany was spotted wearing a face mask as she waited for him to leave for the hospital on Marine One. However, on Sunday, when she answered some questions in the White House driveway on she was spotted taking off her mask to speak with reporters.
