#Roommates, it’s been over 24 hours and people are still talking about the very heated argument that happened between “The View” panelists, Whoopi Goldberg and Meghan McCain. Things got so intense that Whoopi firmly told Meghan, “Girl, please stop!” Well now, both women have addressed the situation on the daytime talk show’s most recent episode.
As we previously reported, on the December 16th episode Meghan was continuously interrupting both Whoopi and fellow panelist Sunny Hostin as they attempted to speak their opinions regarding Donald Trump’s impeachment. That’s when Whoopi absolutely had enough of Meghan and told her to stop talking.
After Whoopi said, girl, please stop!” Meghan replied with “fine, I won’t say anything for the rest of the show” and perfectly on cue, Whoopi responded with, “I’m okay with that.” However, Meghan still continued to talk over Whoopi and that’s when Whoopi decided to just cut to commercial.
Fast forward to the latest episode, and Whoopi and Meghan have assured viewers that everything is fine and it’s all love between the two. Whoopi opened the show with this statement:
“We’re just going to do a little clean up before we do anything. Things get heated on this show. If you watch the show you know this has happened over the years. We’re really passionate, this is our job. We come in, we talk to each other, sometimes we’re not as polite as we could be. That’s just the way it is.
“But you’re going to be dealing with the same thing when you’re sitting around your table with your family and you don’t agree or somebody says something and goes off the rails. This is part of what we do. This is not an indication that women can’t sit around and talk. This is not an indication that we don’t know how to deal with each other on camera, this is happening in real time. Stuff happens on this show in real time and everybody, you know, wherever you sit in all this, don’t assume that you, that we’re over here with butcher knives under the table, you know? It just doesn’t work that way.”
She continued, adding:
“This is our gig. And sometimes it goes off the rails and it does. So if you can say that’s never happened to any of y’all…(laughter)…that you’ve never had this happen…you understand where this is coming from. So just calm down. It’s a TV show. We’re on together for an hour and we step in poopie. OK? We step in poopie and stuff happens and everybody just calm down.”
Meghan followed up Whoopi’s comments with a sentiment of her own:
“Can I say something? Whoopi and I get along great. I love you very much. I’ve loved you for a long time. You were good friends with my dad. We fight like we’re family. It’s all good. We’re not tearing the set apart. Calm down, all of you. OK? It’s all good.”
But then before the show Meghan also threw some shade to Whoopi on Twitter:
Welp, there you have it…they’ll be arguing again soon enough.
