Whoopi Goldberg Returns To ‘The View’ After Two-Week Suspension Over Holocaust Statement

Whoopi Goldberg is back in the chair! After a two-week suspension, the 66-year-old is back with her View co-hosts on Monday after being suspended by ABC News over Holocaust statement.

Looking in the camera, Whoopi stated, “Welcome to ‘The View’! And yes! I am back.” She continued, “There’s something kind of marvelous about being on a show like this because we are ‘The View,’ and this is what we do. Sometimes we don’t do it as elegantly as we could, but it’s five minutes to get in important information about topics. And that’s what we try to do every day, and I want to thank everybody who reached out while I was away.”

She also stated, “It is an honor to sit at this table and be able to have these conversations because they’re important. They’re important to us as a nation, and to us more so as a human entity.”

As you know, the president of ABC, Kim Godwin, issued a statement on Feb 1st that read, “Effective immediately, I am suspending Whoopi Goldberg for two weeks for her wrong and hurtful comments. While Whoopi has apologized, I’ve asked her to take time to reflect and learn about the impact of her comments.” She continued, “The entire ABC News organization stands in solidarity with our Jewish colleagues, friends, family, and communities.”

The day before, the cast of the show was talking about a Tennessee school board’s decision to remove a graphic novel, ‘Maus.’ During the discussion, Goldberg said, “If you’re going to do this, then let’s be truthful about it, because the Holocaust isn’t about race. No, it’s not about race.”

Roomies, what do you think of this?
