#Roommates, though there’s very little surprise, there’s still a lot to celebrate as ’The Lion King’ smashed box office record this weekend, bringing in $531M globally making it the number 1 movie in the WORLD.
According to @Deadline, the live action remake dominated this weekend’s sales and garnered a new record, making it the 9th biggest box office movie debut of all time. I’ll say that again, for the people in the back, the 9th biggest box office debut of ALL TIME.
As it stands, the movie has hit the half billion benchmark in about 10 days (opening early in China) and is on track to bring in $1B worldwide before next weekend.
