YNW Melly Attorney Confirms He Has Tested Positive For The Coronavirus While In Jail

Young rapper YNW Melly has revealed that he has tested positive for the coronavirus while in Broward Jail. His attorney has released a statement confirming his test results, as he is one of two inmates with the virus.

A post on Melly’s Instagram says that he was tested positive while awaiting his trial, and his attorney will be filing a motion for “restricted release”, similar to that of Tekashi 6ix9ine.

“The jails and prisons in this country are creating an extremely dangerous situation by not providing hand sanitizer and proper hygiene care,” Bradford Cohen said. “I have prepared and will be filing an emergency motion in the morning for his conditional release.”

As we previously reported, Tekashi was released from prison after the judge in his case approved his request for a compassionate release in regard to the coronavirus.

The judge has also concluded that Tekashi is not a danger to the community, and he will serve the first four months of his supervised release on house arrest.
