YNW Melly Denied Release From Jail Despite Testing Positive For COVID-19

Roomies, it looks like YNW Melly will not get an early release from jail, even though he tested positive for COVID-19. As we previously reported, the rapper was seeking an early release, in order to get better treatment, due to inadequate care.

His lawyer, Bradford Cohen, stated,

“The jails and prisons in this country are creating an extremely dangerous situation by not providing hand sanitizer and proper hygiene care,” Bradford Cohen said. “I have prepared and will be filing an emergency motion in the morning for his conditional release.”

The goal was to get a restricted release, something similar to what Tekashi 69 received, but that wasn’t the case.

According to TMZ, the judge denied his release, and stated YNW Melly would have to request treatment from the Broward Sheriff’s Office, if he needed it.

Since the denial, it looks like a tweet was sent to his former collaborator, Kanye West, asking for help. It’s also being reported that he’s allegedly only being served gatorade and Tylenol, while in jail.
