Shooting Outside Of Memphis Restaurant Reportedly Owned By Yo Gotti Leaves 2 Dead & Several Injured

A shooting outside of a Memphis, Tennessee restaurant reportedly owned by rapper Yo Gotti has left 2 people dead and several others injured. According to FOX 13 Memphis, the shooting occurred at the location late Wednesday evening.

More Details About The Shooting And Its Victims

According to the outlet, authorities were called to 6980 Winchester Rd. around 11:15 p.m. in regard to a shooting.

When officers arrived at the location, named Prive Restaurant, they found two men reportedly suffering from gunshot wounds. One was pronounced dead at the scene and another was taken to Regional One in critical condition.

However, according to police, the man later passed away.

In addition to the two men, police reported that “five additional people” arrived at the hospital via private transportation. According to the outlet, the five additional shooting victims include a “35-year-old man, a 30-year-old man, a 25-year-old woman, a 37-year-old man, and a 31-year-old man.”

Furthermore, the outlet reports that evidence markers “indicate around 40 bullets were fired.”

The Alleged Events Leading Up To The Shooting

The Memphis Police Department has reportedly disclosed that the shooting stemmed “from an altercation inside the restaurant,” as reported by Fox 13 Memphis.

According to TMZ, the outlet spoke with law enforcement officials who say a confrontation sparked inside the restaurant. Then spilled over outside with a “barrage of gunfire” reportedly erupting in the parking lot.

Memphis Mayor Jim Strickland shared a statement regarding the shooting, as reported by Fox 13 Memphis.

“These senseless killings have to stop. Our gun laws in our country and state need to be reevaluated; we need common sense regulations limiting easy access to these weapons. In addition, our court systems needs to have zero tolerance for gun and violent crimes.”

According to TMZ, police are still searching for the assailants behind the shooting. Additionally, the outlet reports that authorities have not disclosed “what triggered the initial altercation.”

In 2016, Yo Gotti sat down with DJ Smallz Eyes and explained that he launched Prive Restaurant to build generational wealth for his family. As well as bring a fine-dining experience and more job opportunities to his native city of Memphis. According to the restaurant’s official Instagram page, the private restaurant location seemingly launched in 2014.
