The 2023 resurfaced clip of Shannon Sharpe arrives amid the host being hit with a $50 million lawsuit accusing him of rape and sexual assault. As The Shade Room previously reported, the suit was filed in Nevada on April 20 by a woman initially identified as Jane Doe but now publicly known as a 20-something-year-old Gabriella Zuniga. Furthermore, Zuniga accuses Sharpe of filming their sexual interactions without her consent, threatening physical harm to her, and raping her on two occasions.
In response, Sharpe and his legal team have denied the allegations, asserting their relationship was consensual by exposing Zuniga’s identity and releasing alleged NSFW text messages shared between the pair. This prompted Zuniga and her legal team to release alleged texts of her confronting Sharpe for the alleged rape. Amid the back-and-forth, footage has surfaced of Mo’Nique telling Sharpe to leave younger women alone, along with footage of him speaking suggestively about an OnlyFans model.
Last week, Sharpe announced his decision to temporarily step away from his role at ESPN. Furthermore, in the days that followed, a woman suing Sharpe for defamation, alleging he also sexually assaulted her, has come forward to the media.
