But on Wednesday (November 9), Spice ended her social media break to clear the air. The Grammy-nominated artist revealed on Instagram and Twitter that her health took a hit but reassured fans that the rumors don’t reflect reality.
Spice posted the update with a photo of herself to her verified account and began by thanking Jesus for “saving [her] life.”
“Hey besties I’m in a better space today to properly update you on my current health situation. I suffered a damaged hernia a few days ago that sent my body into sepsis,” Spice wrote. “As a result, I was rushed to the hospital for immediate surgery.”

As mentioned, the health scare came amid Spice’s break from social media, which began on October 17. She expressed feeling “tired of being their only target for clout and clickbait.” Spice didn’t give an end date for the break, but she wished her fans a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year in the post.

While breaking her silence on Wednesday, the singer did not clarify her current location or whether she had received cosmetic surgery. However, she denied that the health scare involved a coma, heart attack, or near-death experience.
“As you know, I’ve been off Social Media for a while to rest mentally, so little did I know that during my medical scare it was already been said that I had a heart attack, I was in a Coma, and I also died, but none of that is true,” Spice said. “However, I am still recovering from what really happened…”

Spice’s words reflect what her booking agent told The Shade Room last week–that the singer was not and has never been in a coma. Her agent spoke to TSR after the creator of Surgeon Made Curves continued to claim that Spice suffered from complications of cosmetic surgery.
“Ladies, I’m receiving reports that Spice was in DR having some work done and is suffering from complications,” the blogger wrote on Instagram. “I’m very saddened by the news and will keep everyone updated as the story is developing…nothing is confirmed.”
The blogger cited alleged details about Spice’s condition from unnamed sources in the caption of her feed post.
“As I posted days ago and was called a liar, amongst other things but turned out to be right as always…Spice is in the DR and did have surgery,” the blogger wrote. “However, I received reports that she was experiencing complications, and I was trying to stay positive and not state exactly what I heard…I heard from a source that she was in a coma and not that an organ was punctured…We still can’t confirm any of this to be true other than she’s in the Dominican Republic, had surgery and has suffered some of type of complication.”

Spice thanked her fans for their support, encouraging them to enjoy life. Unfortunately, she also seemingly canceled all upcoming shows, including an international stop.
